Illinois Enacts Nation’s Final Concealed-Gun Law

Illinois became the last state in the nation to allow public possession of concealed guns as lawmakers rushed Tuesday to finalize a proposal ahead of a federal court’s deadline. Both chambers of the Legislature voted to override changes Gov. Pat Quinn made to the bill they approved more than a month ago. Even some critics of the law argued it was better to approve something rather than risk the courts allowing virtually unregulated concealed weapons in Chicago, which has endured severe gun violence in recent months. The Senate voted 41-17 in favor of the override Tuesday afternoon after the House… View Article

Obama Supporters Sign Petition to Repeal Bill of Rights

Obama Supporters Sign Petition to Repeal Bill of Rights Social commentator Mark Dice invited citizens to sign the petition to “support Obama repealing the bill of rights, taking things further than the Patriot Act” and replacing it with “new NDAA-type legislation.” Dice labeled the Constitution “old fashioned” and “ancient” in “today’s new world order” as Americans willingly put pen to paper. “He’s done everything he can to repeal the bill of rights but we’re just showing the citizenry is right behind him repealing the bill of rights,” Dice stressed as signatories nodded in agreement. People signing the petition still...

Ordered Not To Speak About Michael Hastings Crash

Police, Firefighters Ordered Not To Speak About Michael Hastings Crash San Diego 6 journalist Kimberly Dvorak says she was unable to obtain the police report concerning the crash despite the fact that the LAPD already ruled out “foul play” days after the incident. A gag order has also been placed on cops and firefighters who both responded to and investigated the crash, which occurred in the early hours of June 18 in the Hancock Park neighborhood of Los Angeles. “When you go to the LA police department and you go to the fire department….they all said they couldn’t comment...

Carry Permit Applicants Still Waiting Approval

45,000 Handgun Carry Permit Applicants Still Waiting Approval Indiana State Police say they’re seeing an influx of handgun carry permit applications, statewide. Sgt. Ron Galaviz with the Indiana State Police (ISP) says handgun carry permit applications have gone from approximately 62,000 in 2012, to approximately 92,000 as of June 2013. Approximately 23,000 of those applications were received in January 2013, alone Sgt. Galaviz says there could be many reasons for the increase in gun carry applications. Perhaps it’s a reaction to the Sandy Hook shooting and President Barack Obama threatening to restrict gun laws. Sgt. Galaviz also credits their… View Article

Congress Should Decide Who Qualifies for First Amendment Freedoms

Dick Durbin: Congress Should Decide Who Qualifies for First Amendment Freedoms In addition to trying to redefine the Second Amendment as not protecting anyone’s right to bear arms, Illinois Senator Dick Durbin is now excited about how to redefine the First Amendment. As with guns, Durbin is trying to limit constitutional freedoms so that they cannot be used by people of whom he disapproves. In an opinion essay published in the Chicago Sun Times last week, Durbin argued it was “time to say who’s a real reporter,” so that no one else can be given First Amendment protections. “Is each… View Article

GOP immigration plan devised by Communist Party

The U.S. Senate’s “Gang of Eight” immigration-reform plan, as well as a strikingly similar plan now being backed by Rep. Paul Ryan, R-Wis., and a bi-partisan House “Gang,” both offer the “roadmap to citizenship” originally conceived and carefully developed by members of the Communist Party USA working within the Democratic Party and the radical left activist network for the purpose of using amnestied illegals to build a “permanent progressive majority.” That is the inescapable conclusion readers will draw after reading the forthcoming book by acclaimed researcher and blogger Trevor Loudon, titled “The Enemies Within: Communists, Socialists and Progressives in...

Gun seizures trigger fear of massive police power

Gun seizures trigger fear of massive police power Is your front door no longer sacred? A flurry of recent stories about police knocking on – and sometimes knocking in – people’s front doors have raised alarms in both the U.S. and Canada about whether the home is still constitutionally protected from increasing police power. As WND reported, High River, Alberta, has become a recent focal point of the controversy, when it was revealed Royal Canadian Mounted Police entered the flooded town after a mandatory evacuation, broke down doors and began confiscating “several hundred” firearms. The details are eerily reminiscent...

IRS published online thousands of Social Security numbers

The Internal Revenue Service mistakenly exposed as many as 2,319 Social Security numbers by posting them on the Internet, which a California-based archivist discovered last week. The IRS has already come under scrutiny for targeting conservative political groups more frequently for audits and wasting millions of dollars on luxury hotels, alcohol, parody videos and tickets to sports games. The latest allegations against the IRS serve as further embarrassment to an agency that has been under fire for months. Archivist Carl Malamud of Bulk Resource has long requested that the IRS publicly release transaction documents of nonprofit political groups, which are… View Article

Ron Paul announces own media venture

Former US congressman Ron Paul has announced the launch of a new media network this summer, adding that to a growing list of projects announced since his retirement, including an upcoming book on American education. According to a video posted to Facebook last weekend, the imminent launch of The Ron Paul Channel is in response to the coordination between news outlets and government sources. “The lying and conniving and collusion between those that give us our news and information and the government, this is going to change,” states Paul in the promotional video. “FINALLY a media network dedicated to liberty,… View Article

Officer cleared of threatening Michelle Obama

District police officer accused of threatening Michelle Obama has been cleared of administrative charges related to the first lady but was found guilty of posting a derogatory job description on social media and depicting the president as a communist, his attorney said Monday. Members of a departmental review board ruled that Christopher Picciano, a 17-year veteran who was a member of the elite presidential motorcade detail, should be suspended without pay for 40 days for conduct unbecoming an officer. His attorney, James W. Pressler, said his client is weighing an appeal. The city had sought to have Picciano fired. “We’re… View Article
