Nikki, get your gun! Video of Republican South Carolina Gov. Haley blowing off steam at a shooting range goes viral
South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley called her time shooting at a local gun manufacturer “a good stress reliever,” with video of the Republican politician’s time at the range going viral.
Though she looked the part of a Southern belle, dressed in heels and baring her arms in a sleeveless dress, she didn’t hesitate to blow off some steam and proved to be an apt marks(wo)man.
Haley stopped by FN Manufacturing, a gun producer in Columbia, S.C., last week to celebrate the business, and her office filmed footage of the tour and thousands of viewers tuned in.
She called the company a “source of pride” for the Palmetto State since it supplies arms to the U.S. military.
“For me, this was particularly personal because they manufacture [some of the weapons]which Michael is using now in Afghanistan,” she said, referencing her husband, a member of the National Guard, who was deployed in January.
She said she had a “good time” shooting several of the weapons produced by FN, which include the M4, M240, M249.
“I did it in heels,” she bragged about handling an automatic weapon.
A YouTube clip of the event quickly spread on the Web, and her constituents seemed pleased to see Haley exercising her Second Amendment right.
“You ROCK lady!!!” one Haley fan commented on the governor’s Facebook posting of the footage.
