Terror Attack on Pakistani Christians Ignored by the World
A large suicide bombing attack in Pakistan, carried out by two persons, has left at least 60 dead, in an attack on the oldest Christian Church in Peshawar, the All Saints Church. It was the deadliest attack on Christians ever in Pakistan. It is a pattern seen all over the Arab world as the world expresses grief and then forgets each attack, no matter how many women, children, and other civilians are killed. An additional estimated 120 were wounded out of the 400 worshippers on hand.
Especially troubling is the fact that Islamic extremists feel free to attack Christians even as the Taliban is negotiating with the Pakistani government for peace. Not one country in the world is making a big deal from the wholesale slaughter of Christians, while at the same time they criticise Israel for reacting to missiles fired into their country.
Throughout the Muslim world, not only Christians, but other Muslim groups, who are considered to be radical enough, are being singled out for attacks from Islamic extremists. The Obama administration is being pressured by the American people to quit arming and aiding these extremists as they have done in Libya, Egypt, and Syria. President Obama was forced to back down from bombing Syria because of the opposition among American voters.
No one has claimed responsibility for the attack, but it is generally assumed that it was carried out by one of the numerous Islamic extremist groups inside Pakistan.
The attack comes on the heel of an attack on a Kenyan Mall, in which at least 68 are dead and another 175 are wounded with about thirty hostages. The attack was carried out by 10 to 15 armed Islamic fundamentalists. CNN is now reporting that 3 of the attackers are from the United States, with two coming from Minnesota and one coming from Missouri.
Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, has expressed grief for the attack, but still feels the best way to lessen the terrorist attacks is by negotiating with the Taliban for peace. Others feel that negotiating with terrorists never works.
