Democrats’ plan for tyranny

Reacting to the Democrats’ plan for tyranny: A time to organize, to agitate, and, sadly, to arm

By mike | Published: January 28, 2014

Walt Whitman believed, as Professor Kent Graham argues in his astoundingly insightful and truly luminous book, Gettysburg. A Meditation on War and Values, that “the material cause of the [U.S. Civil] War was the saturation of venality and incompetence throughout the American political leadership To support his argument, Professor Graham quotes Whitman’s following description of a prewar, apparently Democratic Party, political convention:

“The members who composed it were, seven eighths of them, the meanest kind of bawling and blowing officeholders, office seekers, pimps, malignants, conspirators, murderers, fancy men, custom-house clerks, contractors, kept editors, spaniels well trained to carry and fetch, jobbers, infidels, disunionists, terrorists, mail-riflers, slave-catchers, pushers of slavery, creatures of the president, creatures of would-be presidents, spies, bribers, compromisers, lobbyists, sponges, ruined sports … crawling serpentine men — the lousy combings and born freedom-sellers of the earth.” (1)

In just the past month, Americans have seen what Whitman saw in the 1850’s Democratic Party, but with the added characteristics of resolute lawlessness and an unabashed, public description of the manner in which Democratic Party leaders intend to use the tools of government to persecute and exclude those Americans who disagree with their plans to destroy America and rebuild it as their godless, poverty-spreading, and authoritarian fiefdom.

First, we had New York’s Governor Andrew Cuomo — backed up by New York City’s Bolshevik mayor Bill De Blasio — tell all Americans that there was no place in New York State for any American who opposes the genocide that is abortion, who believes in God, who reveres the Constitution and the 2nd Amendment, and who opposes sexual deviancy. Because these two “malignants” or “terrorists” — as Mr. Whitman might have referred to them — are stars of the Democratic Party, and because neither has been refuted by their “infidel [and] disunionist” — again Whitman — Democratic brethren, American citizens who fall into Mr. Cuomo’s categories must, to be safe, assume that there is no place for them anywhere in a Democratic Party-ruled United States.

Next, we had New York Senator Charles Schumer, a member in good standing of Whitman’s “blowing officeholders,” publicly boast about his plans to destroy the Tea Party by manipulating laws to rig political primaries and by employing the IRS as a political police — or “spies” as Mr. Whitman would say — to permanently exclude that group of patriots from the political system and drive them out of existence and/or into prison. Clearly Mr. Schumer is one of Whitman’s “meanest kind of bawling” politicians. He ought to be watched carefully and challenged constantly not only because he wants those who oppose the Democratic Party’s tyranny to be silenced and denied their natural rights, but because he — and the bipartisan Israel-First fifth column he represents — is what Whitman would have called a “slave-pusher,” a man intending to enslave Americans, their children, and their taxes to the interests of Israel.

Finally, we come to the irrefutable, self-confessed Democratic criminals who brazenly and publicly declare their intention to break their oath of office by refusing to enforce the law. In Virginia, we have state Attorney General Mark Herring pledge that he would break his oath and not enforce a constitutional amendment sanctioned by Virginia voters that prohibits gay marriage. This man Herring says he does not want Virginia to be on the wrong side of history; he apparently thinks breaking the law is to be on history’s right side. To secure his political future, Herring is more than willing to break the law in favor of the interests of yet another minority group that has accepted slavery on one of the numerous Democratic plantations, places that are designed for those who will reliably vote for the party but who can really do nothing else but whine and demand something for nothing.

Then, here in Washington, we had President Obama and his senior aide Mr. Dan Pfeiffer — the latter Whitman’s “spaniel well trained to carry and fetch” — declare that the president would merrily break his oath, the law, and thereby seek to destroy the Constitution. Because the popularly elected Congress is an impediment to the Democratic Party’s desire to strengthen its tradition of authoritarianism, Obama — who is nothing if not a “disunionist” — said that he would use his “phone and pen” to rule by executive order, a procedure for which there is no constitutional authority for Obama or any president.

So these five men have drawn a frank and public line. They have said very clearly that more than half of the American electorate should be excluded from the U.S. political process and relentlessly persecuted and disarmed by the political police the Democrats have set up at the IRS, the FBI, and the Department of Justice. They have made explicit their hatred for the Constitution, the separation of powers, Christianity, and for any American who has enough commonsense to know that government is always the lethal enemy of liberty, and that it is never more so then when in the hands of men and women — let’s not forget Hillary Clinton, the deliberate killer of Americans, and the war-lover Susan Rice — who Whitman so accurately described as “crawling serpentine men — the lousy combings and born freedom-sellers of the earth.”

What to do about those who Whitman identified as “office seekers, pimps, malignants, conspirators, [and] murderers” now that they have publicly and precisely outlined their plans to install tyranny and have refused to retract a word of those pledges? Well, first, we must take them at their word and for our own and our republic’s safety assume that they intend to do exactly what they said they will do.

Next, there must immediately be greatly increased political organization and unity among those Americans who want to keep their liberty, Constitution, faith, and natural rights. “A FREE people,” the conservative American Founder John Dickenson wrote, “can never be too quick in observing, nor too firm in opposing the beginnings of alterations either in the form or the reality, respecting institutions formed for their security.” (2)

Given what we have been “observing” from Obama, Cuomo, and Schumer, this means, necessarily, a concentration of Americans opposed to the tyranny of Obama, Clinton, and their party around the Tea Party and like-minded groups. These are the only organizations that can force the Republican establishment to find its manhood and begin to explain to all Americans that cooperation with Obama and his slave-drivers is not “bipartisanship” but rather is to behave as mindless lapdogs that will be complicit in the demise of the republic and the entrenchment of tyranny.

The foregoing must be attempted; the self-confessed criminals in the Democratic Party and those who act as their overseers in the bureaucracy and the media ought to be annihilated at the ballot box. But this avenue is closing, as Schumer, Cuomo, and Obama have publicly promised by declaring their intention to ignore the laws, to dismantle the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, and to rule by diktat. With the best republican intentions in the world, those Americans who detest and want to resist the advance of tyranny may soon find themselves removed from the U.S. political process. A fallback position is clearly necessary.

The possibility that Americans would one day face the threat of an Executive Branch-installed tyranny was clearly foreseen by the Founders, and they therefore left us with a safeguard, a means of effective defense in the form of the 2nd Amendment. It is, of course, not yet time for violence, but it may be past time to remember that no people is required to sit and watch themselves be deliberately enslaved by an ever more powerful and arbitrary central government. “[I]f you live under any form of government,” the scholar of republicanism Quentin Skinner argued in his aptly named book, Liberty Before Liberalism, “that allows for [as Obama has promised] the exercise of prerogative or discretionary power outside the law, you will already be living as a slave.” (3)

Braced, then, by Obama’s and his party’s public promise of tyranny to come, the requisite response is to realize our current circumstances are not only a time to bend every peaceable effort to politically crush the detestable would-be tyrants mentioned above, but also as a time to arm in case we fail and the Democrats accelerate their move toward tyranny.

So first and foremost, those who want to stop the Democrats’ now-public-plan to curtail liberty and void the Constitution must organize, agitate, petition, and, above all, get out the vote. But at the same time, those who want to ensure their liberties survive would do well to, in a paraphrase of the enemy-defeating sentiments of the late-U.S. Navy Admiral William Halsey, “buy guns, buy guns, buy more guns.”

Both responses are fully in keeping with what the Founders intended. American citizens, as John Dickinson wrote, “will always have the same rights … of judging when their privileges are invaded, and of using all prudent measures for preserving them.” (4)
