Senior Told He Can’t Fly Flag on His Truck, Then His Classmates do THIS and Change Everything
In Obama’s America flying the Stars and Stripes is a big no-no, as we’re all supposed to be ashamed of being part of the greatest nation that’s ever existed in human history.
Tons of stories have been reported about people being told they can’t fly the American flag, some of which are so infuriating it’s enough to make your blood boil.
The latest incident comes out of a South Carolina high school where a senior — Peyton Robinson — was told by officials he couldn’t fly the flag on his pickup truck.
What happened next is pure awesomeness.
From TheBlaze:
“He said, ‘We’re having some issues. Some people were complaining about the flags in your truck,’” Robinson told WBTV-TV. He said the administrator said the flags could “possibly” be offensive, and told Robinson to take them down before coming back to the South Carolina school Thursday.
He told WBTV that at some point Wednesday, a school official unscrewed the bolts securing the flags to his truck and laid them in the bed “when I wasn’t even there.”
“I’d understand if it was the Confederate flag or something that might offend somebody,” he added. “I wouldn’t do that. But an American flag — that’s our country’s flag. I have every right to do it. I don’t see a safety issue. I mean, I understand it’s a big flag — it’s 4 by 6 — but nobody has ever complained about it being in their way or anything.”
Robinson decided to utilize the power of social media to raise awareness about what was happening, and found massive support from fellow students who drove back to the school that night with flags flying proudly from their vehicles.
The senior told local news reporters he would keep fighting the school on the issue, and his classmates decided to stand with him.
Students also vowed to fly flags Thursday morning at school in solidarity with Robinson — and more than 70 vehicles equipped with waving flags pulled into the school parking lot.
Principal Christopher Black told WSOC on Thursday he would be asking all of those students to remove their flags. But just a couple of hours after the demonstration, there was a big change of heart.
“Do [sic] to the outstanding display of patriotism through peaceful demonstration, it is apparent to us that many are not happy about this policy,” the school said in a statement. “School officials have reviewed the standing policy regarding flags and have decided that an exception will be made for the American flag, as long as the size of the flag(s) does not create a driving hazard.”
The state Highway Patrol told WSOC the York students’ flags are legal.
Seeing stuff like this gives me hope for the future, as it proves not all young people are duped into believing the progressive lies they’re fed in school. Some can actually think for themselves, which is exactly what America needs.
Badly.
Kudos to the school for deciding to change their policy and listen to the voices of their students, which in all honesty, is a rare thing these days.
Every citizen has the right fly their flag proudly, and to deny that right is a violation of the First Amendment.
Old Glory isn’t just a piece of cloth. It’s a symbol of freedom, liberty, and all that’s good about this nation and the positive impact it’s had on the world at large.
Our men and women in the military have bled on countless battlefields to protect this flag and the ideals and values it represents. When it’s flying high, gently blowing in the breeze, all of those who have sacrificed so much for our freedom are honored.
We should always fight for our right to display our pride in our country, and should never bow to liberals who try their hardest to make us ashamed of what our great nation has accomplished.
If the flag offends them, they don’t have to fly one. If this country embarrasses them, they’re free to leave. Heck, I’ll even help them pack.
America certainly could use a few more young folks like Robinson and his classmates, and I hope this incident will inspire other patriots to take action to fight for their rights across the land.
