A woman who was working at a law office decided one day to become more devout and started wearing a burka instead of a hijab to “be closer to Allah.” However, as soon as she showed up to work with a full face covering, her boss was waiting for her with an unexpected surprise.
Unless you’re living under certain barbaric Islamic regimes, the burka is not mandatory. It is a choice. However, many Muslim women are fooling the West into accepting it as a standard much like their required daily prayers, washing, halal food, and countless other prerequisites with which they often burden their employers. Fortunately, some countries are beginning to consider the majority’s freedom from religion when it comes to Muslims attempting to force us to accept their misogynistic values.
A woman identified only as Gertrude M began showing up to work at a law office in Lower Austria wearing a veil instead of her usual hijab. When her boss approached her about the dress code violation of covering one’s face, she thought her Muslim privilege trumped her employer’s rules. However, she quickly found out she was wrong.
After refusing to remove her veil, her employer fired her. Of course, she expected to take her alleged discrimination case to the supreme court and perhaps even be awarded a nice compensation for damages to her sensitive feelings. Again, she was disappointed.
The Express reports that the Austrian Supreme Court ruled this month that not only is the Muslim woman not a victim of discrimination but employers have the right to fire employees who refuse to remove burkas.
The court agreed with the employer that a visible face is one of the basic necessities for comfortable communication in the workplace, whether it be with customers or coworkers. Subsequently, the court ruled that the termination of the woman’s contract was valid and, therefore, not discrimination.
After bringing her case all the way to the Austrian Supreme Court, she was devastated to find that her firing was not discriminatory.
Shocked, Gertrude is still playing the victim even though it was her personal choice to hold the burka over her career. However, she fails to mention that she converted to Islam after she was hired and that her boss allowed her to wear a hijab before she decided to test the waters with a full face covering that shows only her eyes, The Sun reports.
“I was diagnosed with cancer and was told I had three months, maybe a year to live,” Gertrude explained. “I started to wear the veil to already be closer to Allah. I had considered not doing it because some problems would be predictable of course but my heart cried afterwards so I started covering my face.”
Gertrude still doesn’t comprehend why non-Muslim customers who don’t know her, and couldn’t be sure of her identity even if they did, would be wary of communicating freely with her while she covered her face.
“I cannot understand why my employer thinks it causes problems in communication, that he cannot tell whether I understood his instructions or not,” she continued. “He can look in my eyes, see my gestures and hear the pitch in my voice. My children understand me as well when I am veiled in a public place and speaking to them.”
Of course, there is a stark difference in your own flesh-and-blood recognizing your voice and new customers who’ve probably been through some sort of trauma having their first experience in the law office be with a mystery person hiding under a sheet.
“I want to make a contribution to society not to just be at home among other Muslims or only among women but a part of society cannot deal with the face veil,” Gertrude added. “Many are just afraid of it because of media reports about terrorist attacks.”
Yes, people are afraid and the media is reporting terrorist attacks. That’s what happens when a particular group of people goes around committing mass murder in the name of their religion, especially when said demographic is allowed to hide their identity and maybe more under such obstructive garments.
The monumental Austrian ruling comes just months after the Belgium Supreme Court ruled against a Muslim woman who demanded to wear a hijab at a security firm, according to Mad World News. The court added that employers can ban workers from wearing hijabs to work as long as they establish a company rule against headgear.
Muslims demand respect and tolerance while doing the least to earn it, much less give it in return. We too often hear that we should respect their religion after they’ve made a list of requirements to which we must adhere. Of course, according to Sharia, these requirements aren’t just for Muslim worshipers. In every Muslim-majority country that implements their law, the religious minorities are forced to live by their barbaric religious laws.
