In Melbourne Beach, Australia, two landscapers were beaten senseless by a mob of African migrants who were vandalizing the property they work on, reported the U.K. Express.
The teens were apparently destroying fencing around the St. Kilda Life Saving Club when one of the men, only identified as Andrew, confronted the group.
That’s when things went south very, very quickly.
“There were about 30 of them and they all turned at once and attacked me, all of them swinging at once,” recalled Andrew.
Andrew said he did not approach them aggressively — he just told them to leave the site. Apparently that was enough to set them off.
“I just told them to get out of the construction site and then they just looked at me and they just charged at me like animals, like in the wild, they were wild animals,” said Andrew.
According to News.com.au, Andrew’s colleague, Nathan, who was on the scene, had his nose broken in the attack.
“Nathan was up against the wall getting beat up,” Andrew said. “He tried to grab somebody attacking me from behind and then a group of the people attacking me turned on him.”
The attack was reportedly only one of several crimes perpetrated by this group during the day — the group reportedly roamed the beach committing petty crimes for hours, according to the Express. Every time the police arrived to address the problem, the gang dispersed until the police left the area.
They then went back on rampage.
The Melbourne police gave assurances that justice would be served, but it was unsure just how that will be done.
“I want to provide some reassurance to the community that what occurred was not acceptable,” Melbourne Police Inspector Jason Kelly said. “The matter will be fully investigated and those responsible will be identified.”
They certainly need to be identified, and justice needs to be done.
