Jim Brown: Trump Won ‘Fair and Square’

“I’m going to support him.”

Famed NFL running back Jim Brown will not be calling for “martial law” to stop Trump’s inauguration, as Rosie O’Donnell has done, and even plans to support him.

In an interview with Varney & Co. on Fox Business, Brown rejected the notion that Trump’s election was “illegitimate” and said he will be giving Trump the support he needs, despite backing Hillary Clinton for President.

“[Trump] won, in my opinion, fair and square, and I’m going to support him as president of the United States,” Brown said.

He then spoke about the importance of setting aside differences and coming together as citizens.

“When you win against all odds and you defeat those who are against you — and I was for Hillary so I’m one of those who Mr. Trump defeated — but he is the president-elect of the United States, I’m a citizen,” he continued.

“I’m not asking him to do everything. I’m going to pitch in and do some of the things that I can do with the like-minded people that I represent.”

Jim Brown entered the political conversation when he and former Baltimore Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis visited the President-elect at Trump Tower to talk about issues pertaining to the black community.

“We couldn’t have had a better meeting,” he told reporters. “The graciousness, the intelligence, the reception we got was fantastic.”
