President Donald J. Trump on Wednesday delivered on a slew of campaign promises on immigration — and put cities and states on notice that they would be targeted for protecting illegal aliens criminals from enforcement.
Trump signed an executive order threatening to cut off federal funding for “sanctuary cities” and states, vowing to “crack down” on the 300 cities who shield illegal aliens — including violent offenders — from deportation. “These jurisdictions have caused immeasurable harm to the American people and to the very fabric of our Republic,” Trump’s executive order said.
Well the Governor of one of the worst offending states decided to make a big show of taking on Trump…and then likely wish he hadn’t, after the resulting ridicule on social media.
New York Governor Andrew Cuomo tweeted this “challenge” to Trump:
As I’ve said before, I say again today, if there is a move to deport immigrants, I say then start with me. pic.twitter.com/elejUuKS9J

Impressive, right? But just one thing, Andy…

@NYGovCuomo if you’re telling us that you’re an illegal immigrant, then how did you become Governor of New York? pic.twitter.com/EDrwKT37i0

Um, yeah. And of course he got hit hard with his complete failure to grasp the issue:

But then people decided not to look a gift horse in the mouth…
@NYGovCuomo I’m surprisingly okay with that.

If Cuomo is supposed to be one of the “all stars” of his “opposition,” then Trump is going to make quick work of his immigration agenda.
