Zakharova Tells Journalist It’s Dangerous to Sit Near Creepy Guy From CNN

Russia’s Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova just held another “what unfortunate things did Washington say this week?” press briefing, with predictable results (Washington said a lot of unfortunate things this week).

Maria’s remarks and statements about current events lasted more than one hour — a bona fide truth marathon. But then came our favorite part of every Zakharova press conference: question time.

After about two or three questions, an unsuspecting journalist took the microphone. Maria immediately noticed that something was terribly, terribly wrong — and shouted:

Be careful because there is a journalist from CNN sitting behind you.

And then after a short pause for maximum comedic effect:

I escaped from them, you know.

For those who don’t know: A CNN weirdo recently ambushed Zakharova as she was leaving the Foreign Ministry. She politely asked him to stop being awful.
