Tucker Carlson Unloads On Media: They’ve ‘Degraded And Humiliated Themselves’ Over Trump

On his show Monday night, Fox News Channel’s popular host Tucker Carlson unloaded on his fellow media members for their unhinged and unprofessional coverage of Donald Trump. “His critics in the media often say that Donald Trump is diminishing the American presidency,” said Carlson. “But it is also true that in covering Trump the way they have, many journalists and have degraded and humiliated themselves.”

Carlson’s comments on the “hysteria” and outright “hatred” gripping the left-leaning members of the media came in part in response to Morning Joe hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski airing disparaging, off-the-record comments supposedly made by Trump advisor Kellyane Conway about her boss.

“Even in media there is a zone of privacy in TV media, those are the rules,” said Carlson. “At least they used to be, that was before NBC video taped Donald Trump without his knowledge and then leaked that tape 11 years later to TheWashington Post in an effort to destroy his political career. That was not news coverage, it was political activism committed by news outlets. But none of the usual media watchdog types said a word about it, then or now.”

In response to the rise of Trump, he suggested, all the rules governing legitimate, good-faith, professional journalism have been tossed out the window.

“Many journalists believe it’s literally impossible to be unfair to Donald Trump or the people who work for him,” said Carlson. “Extremism in the pursuit of Trump is no vice. That’s the view in newsrooms, and you hear it in conversations all around Washington, a city that voted 91 percent for Hillary Clinton last fall. Media figures, adults, smart people who have been around, have perspective — or did have perspective. They’ve succumbed to Trump hatred that is so intense, it has destroyed their judgment and in some cases affected their character.”

There are countless example, but watch this one…I have no idea if Kellyanne Conway ever said anything like that, but I do know TV anchors almost never reveal what their guests say off camera. And for good reason…

I see it all the time. Where normal people see flaws –and they do exist– with the president, they see crimes and conspiracies. the rest of us may complain that Trump is undisciplined and impulsive, they regard him as the single greatest threat to Western civilization since nuclear weapons…

A cover up? A cover up of what exactly?

The speaker isn’t offering analysis, he is preaching to those who are already converted. His listeners already know that Donald Trump is evil, and they don’t want details, they want a sermon. And sermons are mostly what they’re getting these days…

We don’t allow reporters to cover their spouses or kids. Why don’t we? Because they wouldn’t be able to see clearly. Their emotions would cloud their judgment. Their love would get in the way of fair coverage. Hate has the same effect on people. It distorts their view of reality. In the end, it blinds you completely. And that’s where the media are now. Stumbling around in a sightless rage, screaming.
