Previously Deported Illegal Alien Arrested on Murder Charges in Arizona

By

Another preventable crime.

A previously deported illegal immigrant from Mexico has been arrested in Arizona for allegedly chasing down another man and fatally shooting him.

“Witnesses told police they saw 26-year-old Victor Garcia pursue a man, later identified as 34-year-old Jesus Valazquez, through a parking lot at 6710 W. Indian School Road around 3:16 p.m.,” according to AZcentral.

The court documents reportedly said that Garcia fired several shots a Velazquez before striking him. Velazquez fell, and witnesses said Garcia fired three or four more shots into Velazquez at close range, killing him.

This is not Garcia’s first run-in with American authorities. He was convicted of aggravated assault in 2011 and spent seven nearly seven years in prison. He was released and subsequently deported from the United States in 2017, a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) spokesperson confirmed. ICE has once again placed a detainer on Garcia in order to take him into custody after his criminal matters are resolved in the United States.
