Various rap artists have revealed that they are standing in support of former President Donald Trump’s 2024 election campaign, with many making their public proclamations just after the Georgia mugshot that rocked the world.
One of those people is Chicago rapper BandMan Kevo, who posted a video to his 3 million Instagram followers that showed Trump’s mugshot getting tattooed on his leg.
“Make America Rich Again or Sleepy Joe,” he posted online.
While appearing on the We in Miami podcast, Kevo revealed that Biden has “actually got me paying a lot of taxes,” and revealed, “Actually, this is my second Trump tattoo.”
He also thanked Trump for helping him get out of jail “six months early” after he had reportedly been booked for bank fraud.
Meanwhile, famous rapper Chief Keef praised Trump in front of his 8.8 million Instagram followers just after the former president had his fingerprints taken and mugshot captured.
“He Good In The Hood,” posted Keef.
Buffalo rapper Benny the Butcher made his support for Trump known before the Georgia arrest. He posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Aug. 12, “I’m voting Trump 2024.”
Even YG, the musician known for the infamous “F*ck Donald Trump” rap song appeared to indicate that many black people around the United States have seen the former president in a different light as of late.
“I ain’t going to lie, bro, the black community is not f*cking with Trump, but when this PPP sh*t and all that sh*t came out, black people forgave him,” YG revealed during an August 1 episode of the YouTube show This Past Weekend. “I’m speaking about these mothf*ckers in the hood. I am speaking on their behalf. This is what they say. ‘sh*t, Biden ain’t did nothing for us, that n*gga Trump is passing out money.'”
As all this has been going down, recent polls have shown that Biden is struggling to maintain support with working-class Black voters.
These Trump-backing rappers join others who have backed the former president since 2016, including Ice Cube, Lil Wayne, and Kanye West.
Jordan Coleman, an aspiring rapper and the son of New York City Mayor Eric Adams, said he believes there is “something between Trump’s ideology and the whole gangsta vibe of being an American that a lot of rappers can connect with.”
