Just days after firing radical Obama appointee Carla Hayden — the embattled Librarian of Congress accused of injecting far-left gender ideology into children’s materials — Trump has now terminated U.S. Copyright Office Director Shira Perlmutter, the highest-ranking copyright official in the nation.
The Gateway Pundit previously reported that watchdog group American Accountability Foundation (AAF) demanded that both Hayden and Perlmutter be removed for using their taxpayer-funded positions to push progressive dogma instead of protecting intellectual property and American values.
“The President and his team have done an admirable and long-needed job cleaning out deep state liberals from the federal government,” AAF told the Daily Mail in late April.
“It is time they show Carla Hayden and Shira Perlmutter the door and return an America First agenda to the nation’s intellectual property regulation.”
And that’s exactly what President Trump just did.
President Trump abruptly fired the Democrat Librarian of Congress on Thursday.
Hayden, appointed by Obama in 2016, made history as the first black woman to serve as Librarian of Congress — but conservatives argue her legacy is one of radicalism, not scholarship. Under her watch, the Library of Congress became a platform for leftist identity politics, including drag queen story hours, LGBTQ+ children’s literature showcases, and DEI initiatives laced with CRT buzzwords.
