President Donald Trump has revealed that newly uncovered information about the attempt to assassinate him at his 2024 Butler, Pennsylvania, rally has proved that Democrats were plotting to remove him from the presidential election.
Trump dropped the explosive allegation Tuesday while responding to newly surfaced federal records concerning would-be assassin Thomas Crooks and his preparations before opening fire on the July 13, 2024, rally.
The president said information had now been discovered that should have emerged during the original FBI investigation.
“By the time I got into Office, on January 20th, most of the information was missing, altered, corrupted, or gone,” Trump declared on Truth Social.
“New info was just found! Why wasn’t it seen long ago?
“This was all a Democrat Plot, to get me out of the Election, that failed.”
Trump also demanded consequences for former FBI Director Christopher Wray, whom he accused of mishandling the investigation into the shooting that nearly took his life.
“Dirty Cop Christopher Wray should pay a price for the way he handled this assassination attempt, and certainly for the things he said,” Trump said.
New Crooks Records Surface
Trump’s comments followed the emergence of previously undisclosed information about Crooks, raising fresh questions about what federal investigators knew and why some details are only now becoming public.
New records reveal additional information about Crooks’ behavior at home and the measures he took to conceal aspects of his activity before the shooting.
Crooks reportedly made online purchases using the pseudonym “Bob Dole,” including purchases involving “parts, tools, and items to increase the capacity of his rifle.”
His father also told investigators that Crooks was a loner whose behavior had concerned him.
Those revelations add to the body of information surrounding Crooks, but they do not independently establish Trump’s allegation that Democrats were involved in the assassination attempt.
Trump’s central question is why potentially significant information from the investigation is surfacing more than two years after Crooks opened fire, and after Wray and the Biden administration left office.
