Consequences have elections

by Noel S. Williams

Democrats have won Congress, but their appetite for revenge and radical policies may prove their undoing in 2028.

This is tough to fathom: the polls may have been right. Dems will control Congress. For two years, we’re screwed, especially the victims of the vindictive incoming House Oversight Chairman Robert Garcia, who issued the ominous “lawyer up” warning to the Trump administration.

Bring it on, you hateful, anti-American wretch. It will backfire. Consequences have elections.

The Dems were victorious last night largely (not exclusively) because of voter concerns about affordability, which was partly driven by the Iran war (oil and diesel prices, etc.). Sure, consumer spending remains vibrant, but many families are going into debt just to pay their routine bills. Telling them that “inflation is a hoax” seems dismissive and doesn’t do justice to the great performance of Trump’s Golden Age economy overall.

The Dems currently rejoice, but they will be impaled by either horn of their dilemma: to pursue lawfare or to propose policies.

Lawfare: Garcia’s insidious inquisitions will repulse the growing pool of unaffiliated voters who are pragmatic and want results. After all, there is no clear evidence of genuine wrongdoing. Nevertheless, Garcia is just the latest of several Dems to presume guilt: Kamala, Senator Elissa Slotkin, Susan Rice, and others intend to find a hapless Republican to fit a concocted crime. That may please the stalwart socialists, but there remain plenty of non-socialists in their so-called big tent.

Policy: Markets are currently buoyant now that some uncertainty has been removed. Moreover, decades of data prove indubitably that they perform better when the government is gridlocked. That implies this: Don’t implement policies that will interfere with our vibrant free markets.

However, the socialists can’t help themselves; after all, they have a rabid base to answer to. Impatiently, they will try to carpe diem when it comes to raising taxes, overregulation, green energy, and thwarting AI/SI development. Our president will be Mr. Veto, but the Dems will be on record—they can’t shut up, actually.

Are conservative, patriotic citizens screwed? Nope. Presuming it was honest-to-goodness Americans who voted, we have to abide by the results. That’s how our great country works, especially with the prospect of more elections to right the Ship of State just two years hence. In the meantime, we won’t jump ship.

The Dems are between a lawfare and policy hard place. Any combination thereof will likely engender voter dissatisfaction in two years, especially among swing voters. Some Dem candidates did masquerade as moderates, but now they can’t pretend. If they vote with El-Sayed and Co., they will be out of a job in the next election cycle.
