Black man in hoodie stabs white girl 11 times
Queens girl, 17, stabbed 11 times only steps from her Woodhaven home, mom rushed to her aid
A knife-wielding maniac ambushed a Queens teen just steps away from her door, slashing her 11 times before the bloodied girl’s mom came to the rescue, cops and witnesses said Tuesday.
Natasha Martinez, 17, had finished her shift at McDonald’s and was just a few feet from her Woodhaven apartment when the madman pounced about 11:25 p.m. Monday.
Hearing her daughter’s screams, Natasha’s mother, Wendy Martinez, came running outside — and the bloodthirsty attacker fled.
“I was holding her because she was going to fall. Her face was turning white, and I slapped her. I was telling her, ‘You have to stay alive.’ ”
Natasha’s frantic mom stanched her daughter’s wounds with a towel as paramedics rushed to the scene.
“I saw a cut on her back about 2 inches thick,” said neighbor Teddy Betancourt.
“She was just moaning. Her mother was hysterical.”
The teen was rushed to Jamaica Hospital and was expected to live.
Natasha, who sustained 11 gashes on her torso and back, underwent a three-hour surgery early Tuesday.
Doctors removed her spleen and took a vein from her leg and inserted it in her arm, the mom said.
“I hope she ends up okay, with no disability,” her mother said.
She’s strong. She doesn’t take crap from anybody,” Wendy Martinez added. “If that guy did it to her, he could do it to anybody. I don’t know what’s going on with humanity these days.”
Cops on Tuesday were still hunting for the assailant, who was wearing a hooded sweatshirt.
The attack has stumped investigators, police said.
