TSA Security Charade for Money, Power and Total Control

Michael Chertoff, former DHS Secretary and Naked Body Scanner salesman extraordinaire has no problems with conflicts of interest. He’s thrives on them. In his former position he was instrumental in American purchases of his client, Rapiscan’s, machines for the purpose of looking underneath your clothes as you go through security.
You may remember Chertoff as one of the authors of the Patriot Act. Ignore the fact that it was written prior to the 9/11 attacks. It was passed in response to the attacks and we are just darn lucky that good ole Michael had the foresight to prepare a liberty killing bill, along with a cute-sounding acronym ahead of time. Another thing you want to ignore about Chertoff is his efforts to get the scanning machines approved in spite of Congressional resistance. The ever-fortunate Chertoff and his clients happened to be the benefactors of the Christmas underwear bomber. Ignore the fact that he was escorted onto the flight by mysterious government officials. After that failed little stunt, the gullible sheep in America agreed to the Chertoff deal. I told you he was a great salesman.

What the great snake oil and scanner salesman was also able to help accomplish was the widespread acceptance of physical assault by uniform, beginning in airports but spreading out to every area of transportation and eventually to our very existence. Under the “threat” of another terrorist attack, this adventure down the slippery slope of the surrender of freedom in exchange for ever elusive security was an automatic for implementation.

We will never be secure, that is an impossible and ridiculous premise. Something can always happen and it always will. That doesn’t matter, we’ve given them the inch and they are in pursuit of their mile. The government opportunists, in tandem with their corrupt corporate partners, will never stop encroaching upon our freedoms, rights and dignities until we stand up as a nation and demand that they do so.

The charade will continue as long as we are accepting of the violations. Once we say no, they will have no choice but to obey our collective voice. That is, unless we allow it to proceed past the point where we have a voice. At that point, stopping them will become much more difficult and much less certain.
