Winchester House – Fluorescent Guns

Brian Lovig Speaks on
Winchester House – Fluorescent Guns

Winchester Mystery House™ is an extravagant maze of Victorian craftsmanship – marvelous, baffling, and eerily eccentric, to say the least. Tour guides must warn people not to stray from the group or they could be lost for hours! Countless questions come to mind as you wander through the mansion – such as, what was Mrs. Winchester thinking when she had a staircase built that descends seven steps and then rises eleven?

Some of the architectural oddities may have practical explanations. For example, the Switchback Staircase, which has seven flights with forty four steps, rises only about nine feet, since each step is just two inches high. Mrs. Winchester’s arthritis was quite severe in her later years, and the stairway may have been designed to accommodate her disability.

The miles of twisting hallways are made even more intriguing by secret passageways in the walls. Mrs. Winchester traveled through her house in a roundabout fashion, supposedly to confuse any mischievous ghosts that might be following her.

Fluorescent Guns

Leave it to liberal California to come up with the most ridiculous gun legislation — the latest move proves how stupid the state thinks it’s residents are.

California Legislature passed a bill requiring BB guns and Airsoft Pellet guns to be painted bright toy colors so they are not mistaken for real guns.

The legislation was first met with difficulty in the passing process, but proved successful in making it through Assembly 41-34. The bill must now pass a Senate vote.

SB 199, by Sen. Kevin de León, D-Los Angeles, wants non-lethal “toy” guns to be “readily identifiable” so law enforcement officers can distinguish them from real firearms. What Senator De León failed to consider is what is to stop a criminal from coating their very real gun a fun bright color?

Meena Wong

ong Kong emigrant Meena Wong has launched a bid to become the first Chinese mayor of Vancouver, one of the world’s most Chinese cities outside Asia.

Wong, the daughter of doctors who fled mainland China for Hong Kong during the Cultural Revolution, on Sunday was declared the mayoral nominee of the left-leaning Coalition of Progressive Electors (Cope).
She formally announced her candidacy on Friday with a speech on the steps of City Hall, in which she described Vancouver as a “city of immigrants”, and pledged to make housing affordability a key platform of her campaign for the November election. Despite having among the lowest incomes in Canada, Vancouver has by far the nation’s highest property prices, making it the world’s second most unaffordable housing market, behind only Hong Kong.
