GOP Need Senate – Liberals And Women’s Issues

Today Brian talks about US Elections, Trudeau supports Reproductive rights, Gun owners Rights.

U.S. Sen. Patrick Toomey, R-Pa., told a group of township officials from Montgomery Count that Republicans had “better than even chance” to take back the Senate in November from the Democratic majority.

Speaking to the Montgomery County Township Supervisors Association at Presidential Caterers, Toomey said Republicans would spend the next two years attempting to fix the deeply-flawed Affordable Care Act signed by President Obama.
“Obamacare was a fundamentally flawed bill,” Toomey said. “We ultimately need to reform it.”

All three major election forecasting models saw an uptick in the likelihood of Republicans winning the six seats they need to retake the Senate majority over the past week, movement largely due to the party’s strengthened chances in Alaska, Colorado and Iowa.

The most bullish model for Republicans is Washington Post’s Election Lab, which, as of Monday morning, gives the GOP a 76 percent chance of winning the majority. Leo, the New York Times model, pegs it at 67 percent while FiveThirtyEight shows Republicans with a 60 percent probability. A week ago, Election Lab gave Republicans a 65 percent chance of winning the majority, Leo put it a 55 percent and FiveThirtyEight had it just under 55 percent.

Liberals and Women’s Issues

Women’s reproductive rights trump the freedom of Liberal members of parliament to vote their conscience on abortion, Justin Trudeau said, adding that it’s time that his party “actually defended rights.”

“I have had a lot of Liberals come up to me and say, ‘I don’t quite understand, isn’t the Liberal party about freedom and about defending people’s rights?'” Trudeau said in an interview with CBC’s The Sunday Edition with Michael Enright.

“Absolutely it is. And the rights that women have fought for over decades to be in control of their own bodies and to control their own reproductive health is not a right I’m going to brush aside to defend the freedom of speech or the freedom to vote a particular way for an MP.”

Trudeau has said that any Liberal MP, regardless of their personal beliefs, would have to vote against any proposed legislation that could limit a woman’s right to an abortion.

I see that Justin Trudeau, the would-be Prime Minister of Canada, has elected to boycott an entire news organization because he doesn’t like the comments made by one commentator in a single editorial. Because of some rough – but largely accurate – comments made by Ezra Levant in a September 15th editorial, the Leader of the Liberal Party is refusing to speak to anyone from Sun Media. Specifically, Levant objected to photos of M. Trudeau kissing the bride at a wedding and, based upon that, made some harsh-but-accurate observations about the well-known conduct of Justin Trudeau’s parents, who notoriously carried on multiple affairs during their time at 24 Sussex (Among many other things. I can’t think of any other case where a national leader’s spouse smuggled drugs in said leader’s luggage). In response to this, Trudeau is going to boycott an entire organization of two-hundred and forty-two newspapers until “the matter is resolved.” In other words: Justin Trudeau is a big baby.

We have a very good contrast here. Just a few years ago major newspapers printed bizarre gossip about the private life of our current Prime Minister, Stephen Harper, that was seemingly wholly without foundation. I don’t recall any comparable snit from Mr. Harper. Having people say harsh things about you is the reality of life in politics. If you were not already convinced that Justin Trudeau is utterly unfit to lead anything, let alone a great nation, this entire evidence ought to be complete and convincing evidence of the proposition. If M. Trudeau cannot handle the taunts of Ezra Levant, how shall we ever expect him to handle Vladimir Putin? If he is really as thin-skinned and immature as this grotesque overreaction suggests than he ought to resign and go back to his true calling as a substitute teacher gliding along based upon his famous name.
