Pennsylvania: Senate May Vote Tomorrow on Bill to Ban Pigeon Shoots, Firearms Preemption Bill Awaiting Action in Senate Judiciary Committee
As early as tomorrow, the Pennsylvania Senate could vote on House Bill 1750, previously reported on here. HB 1750 would criminalize organized pigeon shoots in Pennsylvania. Pigeon shooting is a traditional shooting sport and has many participants across the Commonwealth and around the world. Shoots have been held in Pennsylvania for more than a hundred years, and their participants are law-abiding, ethical shooting enthusiasts, hunters and sportsmen.

Vermont: Anti-Gun Group Throwing Money Around
Taking a page out of former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s playbook, “Gun Sense Vermont” has tried to muscle their way into the Second Amendment debate in Montpelier with their checkbook. This group has mailed 91 campaign contribution checks to state legislative candidates. Oddly, the list of donation recipients appears to be fairly random, and a number of pro-gun candidates have contacted the NRA after refusing to cash their checks from this anti-gun group.

Pennsylvania: Firearms Preemption Bill Passes Today in House but Now in Danger in Senate Judiciary Committee
Today, the Pennsylvania House of Representatives passed House Bill 1243 by a 143 to 54 vote. HB 1243 has been referred to the Senate Judiciary Committee, however, your NRA has just learned that attempts may be made tomorrow to amend a ban on pigeon shoots into this legislation, as well as the possible inclusion of other anti-gun amendments. If these anti-gun amendments are adopted, they will kill the bill, and with it, any attempt to pass and enact meaningful and necessary firearms preemption legislation this year.
