Ohio: Logan County school board considers guns in schools
The Riverside Local School board members discussed the issue last week and plan to revisit it on Dec. 16, as well as hold public forums. Superintendent Scott Mann said he hopes this policy could be used as a deterrent from potential threats.“If people know you are protected and that can help us a little bit more, I’m all for it,” Mann said. “Just to reiterate — it’s going to be a community decision.”

Ohio Senate delays vote on suppressors
A bill that would allow the use of suppressors while hunting in Ohio ran into a legislative snag last week.After passing the Ohio House by a big margin in April, the bill moved on to the Ohio Senate, where the Civil Justice Committee scheduled additional testimony on Nov. 12, about a week after the midterm elections.

Florida now allows hunters to use suppressors
Florida hunters can now muffle their shots when hunting deer, gray squirrels, rabbits, wild turkeys, quail and crows.The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission on Friday agreed, with little comment, to issue an order that immediately removes a prohibition on the use of noise-suppressors, or silencers, with rifles and pistols.
