Idaho: Concealed Carry Rewrite Legislation Passes Senate, Heads to Governor Otter
In great news for Idaho gun owners, today, the state Senate passed House Bill 301 by a 30 to 5 vote. HB 301 now heads to Governor Butch Otter (R) for his consideration and signature.

Arizona: State Preemption Bill Expected for House Vote This Week, Governor Signs Pro-Gun Bill
Today, the state preemption bill, Senate Bill 1291, passed through the House Committee of the Whole with a friendly amendment and is expected for third reading by the full House of Representatives sometime this week.

West Virginia: Governor Tomblin Signs Pro-Gun Bill into Law, But Two Other Bills are Still Awaiting a Signature
Today, Governor Earl Ray Tomblin (D) signed into law House Bill 2128, which permits individuals with a concealed handgun license to legally store a firearm in their private vehicle on state Capitol grounds.

Responding to NRA/CRPA “Emergency” Regulations for California’s Firearm Safety Certificate Program
On Monday, March 9, 2015, the Office of Administrative Law (“OAL”) approved a package of so-called “emergency” regulations for California’s new Firearm Safety Certificate (“FSC”) Program and safe-handling demonstrations. The “emergency” regulations, proposed by the California Department of Justice (“DOJ”), took effect immediately after being rubber stamped by OAL.

Tennessee: Park Carry Bill Passes on the House Floor
House Bill 995, sponsored by Representative Mike Harrison (R-9) and Representative Tilman Goins (R-10), would allow a person with a handgun carry permit to carry a firearm in any state, county, or municipal park, or other recreation area and would remove provisions allowing local governments to prohibit carrying in parks by resolution or ordinance.

Tennessee: House OKs Bill To Allow Permit Holders To Be Armed In Parks
The House has passed a bill to strip city and county governments of the power to ban guns in parks, playgrounds and sports fields.

Rep. Kelly Seeks to Renew Funding Ban for UN Arms Trade Treaty in FY 2016 Appropriations Bills
U.S. Representative Mike Kelly (R-PA) issued the following statement today regarding four letters he authored and submitted to the bipartisan leaders of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Defense, the Subcommittee on Homeland Security, the Subcommittee on State, Foreign Operations, and Related Programs, and the Subcommittee on Commerce, Justice, Science, and Related Agencies. Each letter requested updated and strengthened language prohibiting federal funding of the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty (ATT) in each of the subcommittees’ respective appropriation bills for fiscal year 2016.
