Sheriff Calls For Changing the Great Seal of the United States

The Great Seal of The United States of America is sacred. On the symbol is a bald eagle clutching 13 arrows in one talon (representing the original 13 states) and an olive branch in the other. The eagle’s head is faced to the left towards the olive branch. What does it all represent? It represents a nation who has a strong desire for peace, but will always be ready to let go the arrows of war if need be.

Now, don’t get me wrong. I love what the seal represents and what it stands for, but I kind of like Milwaukee Sheriff David Clarke’s idea of changing the emblem. If you are not familiar with Sheriff Clarke, I’ll make it simple. He is a total rockstar. He became a hero of the 2nd Amendment movement when he took out a PSA telling the residents of Milwaukee to buy and learn how to use a gun because they are their own first line of defense. Also, this past election cycle, Clake won his re-election against a person who had the massive backing and deep pockets of Michael Bloomberg, the worlds biggest hater of law-abiding gun owners. (I urge you to read up more on Sheriff Clarke. HE IS AWESOME).
But this past weekend, Clarke might have planted the seeds that forever will send a clear message to the Anti-Second Amendment groups out there. Speaking at the NRA convention over the weekend, Clarke said we should replace the arrows that the eagle is holding on the Great Seal of the United States of America with a semi-automatic rifle.

“Bloomberg tried to take me out with his wallet and only because of your help was I able to kick him out of dodge so to speak with his tail between his legs in search of a signature win to rally around. Together, you and I told him, not today, not here, nice try,” Clarke told the NRA audience.

“He says that when things don’t go right that we cling to our guns and our religion to which I reply damn right we do Mr. President and don’t you forget it.”

“There’s nothing more that I’d rather hold in than my hand when fighting tyranny than a bible in my left hand that I use to swear to uphold the Constitution and in my right hand a Winchester Rifle assemble of freedom and liberty and the United States of America.”

Now this is where the idea was proposed and it’s nothing short of full on AWESOMNESS.

“In fact, I propose we change the great seal of the United States. You know the one — with the American Bald Eagle holding an olive branch in one claw and arrows in another. We should take those arrows out of the eagle’s claw an replace them with a semi-automatic rifle — preferably one that shoots M855 ammunition.” (Alluding to the green tipped ammo for the AR-15 platform rifle that the ATF attempted to band but couldn’t because of a massive backlash.)
