White House Says Women Shouldn’t Get Pregnant Because It Will “Lower Future Career Earnings”
It’s no secret progressives absolutely hate the traditional family unit, as is evidenced by the great lengths they go to in order to promote abortion, homosexual marriage, and now, apparently, the delay of childbirth.
Yes, liberal moonbats — one of my new favorite expressions — are now trying to tell women they shouldn’t get pregnant because it might cause their future earnings to be lower.
Not only does this display a hatred for family life, but also perpetuates the gender wage gap myth.
Prepare to face palm.
In recognition of Equal Pay Day Tuesday, Betsey Stevenson, a member of the White House Council of Economic Advisers, wrote an entry on the White House blog entitled Five Facts About the Gender Pay Gap. While touching on a number of factors influencing the “gender pay gap,” Stevenson cites “motherhood” as one such factor.
However, rather than present it as a natural choice women make, along with their mates, to enhance their lives and in turn benefit society, “motherhood” is said to be “associated with a wage penalty and lower future career earnings.” The article goes on to tout the career-earnings benefits that accrue from delaying childbirth and asserts that women who might otherwise leave the workforce could be persuaded to stay with better paid family and sick leave policies and “therefore bolster their lifelong earnings.”
Anyone who has a basic understanding of progressive thought isn’t surprised a bit by this obvious attack on the family.
Liberals believe they — wielding the power of the government — can legislate a Utopian society where everything is equal and perfect, but in order to do that, they need to control the population and indoctrinate the children they do allow to be born with their twisted view of government in order to make a future generation of good little statists.
This can’t be done if a traditional family unit exists where parents instill their values into their kids, which could run contrary to the program the government wants to push on the little munchkins, thus progressives undermine this kind of family unit and destroy its appeal by any means necessary.
Hence, why they’re painting being married and having children as a negative thing, a “wage penalty.”
It’s pretty sick that loony lefties — who constantly shout, “my body, my choice” — would want to control a woman’s life by dissuading her from pursuing the blessing of family life just so she can have more money.
Another big reason for pushing this insanity is votes. Women are a huge demographic, and progressives will do whatever it takes to make it appear like they are all about equal treatment for women so they can twist their arm and get them to vote Democrat at the polls.
Ladies, don’t fall for this garbage. Children are a wonderful blessing, and if you and your spouse want to start a family, that choice is up to you and no one else.
Don’t allow liberals to dissuade you from taking on the noble task of raising kids just so you can make a few extra bucks.
Believe it or not, there are more important things in life than money.
