US Faces Threat of ‘Illegal Alien Mob Rule’ From Uncontrolled Immigrants
The United States must prevent illegal immigrants from seeking shelter in US cities with policies favorable to them in order to prevent illegal alien mob rule, Jim Gilchrist, founder of The Minutemen Project, told Sputnik.
WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — About 170,000 convicted criminal aliens who have been ordered deported remain at large in the United States. More than 200 US municipalities currently provide safe-haven as sanctuary cities to illegal immigrants.
“If we are to remain a nation of laws as opposed to a nation of illegal alien mob rule, then I have no issue with DHS [Department of Homeland Security] treating illegal aliens as criminal detainees,” Gilchrist said on Friday.
Gilchrist said that as long as DHS agents do not harm or torture illegal immigrant detainees, then they should continue their current practices.
On Friday, the Commission on Civil Rights released a report accusing the DHS of violating detained illegal immigrants’ rights in the United States and treating them like any criminal.
“The US Commission on Civil Rights is most likely proliferating a ‘no immigration law enforcement’ agenda that appears to be a common trait in the current administration, including its Department of Justice,” Gilchrist said.
