Leader Of Group Demanding Unisex Bathrooms In North Carolina Has DISTURBING Secret

Chad Sevearance has gotten plenty of attention lately as the leader of the Charlotte Business Guild, an LGBT organization that has been one of the most vocal opponents of North Carolina’s new law that restricts the idea of unisex bathrooms.

More recently, Sevearance has gotten some attention of a more negative sort: Documents attained by Breitbart reveal that he is a registered sex offender, convicted of molesting children who were put under his care as a youth minister.

On its website, the Charlotte Business Guild describes itself as “a network of LGBT professionals, business owners, employees and individuals in the Charlotte area who meet to nurture a network of business contacts; encourage fellowship and support among community business, professional and charitable pursuits; and provide and promote positive role models in the LGBT community.”

Apparently, to Mr. Sevearance, being a positive role model involves a 2000 conviction for sexual molestation of a minor.

The conviction stems from his stint as a youth minister in 1998. Instead of spreading the word of the Lord, he was much more interested in luring young men, where he would show them pornography and try to talk them into sex. One young man even testified that he woke up to find Sevearance “fondling him.”

As a result of the 2000 conviction, Sevearance was required to register as a sex offender and take a mug shot for a minimum of 10 years.

However, Breitbart reports that his last registration was at the end of last year. No reason has been determined as of yet for why he had to register for five years beyond the minimum date.

Townhall’s Mike Adams posted on his Facebook page about how the Charlotte Observer consistently ignored Sevearance’s sex offender status.

“His conviction and status as a registered sex offender was initially ignored by the Charlotte Observer,” Adams wrote. “Later, they were pressured into doing their jobs by conservative opponents of the ordinance. There is simply no journalistic excuse for ignoring such highly relevant evidence on a matter of public concern.”

There are perhaps some reasons for unisex bathrooms — fathers with daughters or mothers with sons, parents with disabled older children, etc.

However — and perhaps it’s just my cisgender privilege talking — I don’t think a convicted sex offender should be lecturing me or society at large on social mores designed to protect our children.

But how much do you think the mainstream media is going to report this? Don’t be surprised if all you hear is crickets.
