Trump names landing teams for 6 more agencies

President-elect Trump’s transition staff dispatched six additional “landing teams” to federal agencies on Monday, bringing the total number of teams sent to facilitate the changing of power at various departments to 10.

The newly-unveiled teams will head to the Department of Commerce, Social Security Administration, Department of the Treasury, Federal Communications Commission, Small Business Administration and the office of the U.S. Trade Representative.

Trump’s staff also announced additions to the State Department, Pentagon and Justice Department landing teams, which headed to Washington last week.

The six groups made public Monday were part of the economic “bucket” of teams Trump’s transition staff had previewed last week.

In the coming days, Trump’s staff are expected to reveal the membership of teams in the domestic policy “bucket,” which will include the Department of Veterans Affairs and the Environmental Protection Agency.

Sean Spicer, spokesman for the Republican National Committee, said the landing team members will work at their respective agencies temporarily and will not necessarily receive jobs in the administration.

Notable choices for the economic landing teams include Ray Washburne, a major Republican donor who sat on Trump’s campaign “victory fund.” Washburne will lead the Department of Commerce transition effort.

Tom Leppert, former mayor of Dallas, challenged Sen. Ted Cruz unsuccessfully during the GOP Senate primary in Texas. Leppert will lead the transition activities at the Social Security Administration.

Here are the members of the landing teams announced so far.
