This Australian Woman Was Convicted Of A Crime For Reminding People At Abortion Clinics That They’re Aborting Babies

An Australian woman has been charged and convicted of a crime for holding up photos of aborted babies outside of an abortion clinic, the judge ruling that exposing people to the gruesome reality of what was actually being carried out inside the clinic was the true crime.

In 2013, pro-life activist Michelle Fraser held up posters which featured photos of “an aborted baby’s bloody, mangled hand and head resting against a coin” outside of the East Melbourne Fertility Control Clinic, notesLife News. 

Fraser was subsequently convicted of “displaying an obscene figure in a public place” and fined $600. An appeal from the pro-lifer was shot down on March 21.

According to residing Judge Karin Emerton’s decision, the images exposing the act of abortion were too horrific to allow people to be “unwittingly exposed” to them.

“They are images which, according to accepted community standards, are of such horror or such a disgusting nature that people ought not to be unwittingly exposed to them while going about their everyday business, or be obliged to take steps to avoid them,” said Emerton.

The judge added that the photos might be harmful to children. (As opposed to the actual murder of children, which those photos are meant to deter?)

Australian Christian Lobby’s Martin Iles argued that the judge’s decision was a serious overreach.

“Sometimes the raw truth is the strongest political communication we can make, regardless of how shocking it is,” wrote Iles in late March. “Indeed, often it is in the very act of exposing horror that action is precipitated.”

Iles continued, “A young boy holding up the severed head of a Syrian soldier brought the evil of ISIS to the world. It adorned newspaper front-pages and prime time news bulletins across the nation.”

Throughout history, images which expose evil have been catalysts to stopping such evil. Censoring the truth about the reality of abortion is a vital tactic of the Left.  By her decision to suppress such truth, this Australian judge has helped to advance the evil that is abortion, a movement cloaked in euphemisms and secrecy by necessity.
