“Corrupt” Soros and His “Minions” Hit With Massive Lawsuit By Wilmot Proviso
It’s not often that a lawsuit is interesting enough that we get some popcorn ready and prepare to watch the fireworks. However, calling this one interesting is an understatement — and that’s a very bad thing for liberal moneybags George Soros.
According to the Australian Financial Review, mining firm BSG Resources filed a lawsuit against Soros in a New York City court on April 14, alleging that Soros used his clout to engage in a misinformation campaign about it that ended in BSG losing a major contract in the African nation of Guinea’s Simandou mountain range.
Bloomberg reports that BSG lost the contract because of allegations of bribing top Guinean officials for access to the mines. In the lawsuit, BSG claims that these accusations were fabricated by Soros and spread due to his ties in the West African nation.
That sounds interesting enough, but check out the first line of the lawsuit: “George Soros epitomizes in the 21st century what Lord Acton observed two centuries ago: Power tends to corrupt; absolute power corrupts absolutely.”
And that’s not the only bombshell language in the lawsuit. The suit calls Soros a “racketeer billionaire” and says that through “himself and through his minions,” the liberal hedge fund manager worked to “delay, damage, and destroy an investment worth at least $US5 billion ($6.6 billion) that plaintiffs lawfully held to mine some of the world’s most valuable deposits of iron ore located in the Simandou mountain range.”
BSG Resources is owned by Israeli business magnate Beny Steinmetz. The lawsuit also alleges that Soros’ anti-Israel sentiments caused him to go after Steinmetz and BSG.
“To Soros, Steinmetz’s success, as well as his active, passionate promotion of Israeli life, business and culture are anathema,” BSG Resources said in the lawsuit. “Soros is also well known for his long-standing animus toward the state of Israel.”
BSG Resources is seeking $10 billion in damages.
“The allegations in BSGR’s lawsuit are frivolous and entirely false,” Soros spokesman Michael Vachon said in a statement. “The lawsuit is a desperate PR stunt meant to deflect attention from BSGR’s mounting legal problems across multiple jurisdictions.”
While this does sound like the plot out of a movie, it’s not the first time we’ve heard of this sort of thing from George Soros. After all, his minions are not of the cute, yellow variety, and their various tentacles have reached into all sorts of places they probably oughtn’t be.
We can’t vouch for the suit’s veracity, but we will say this — it wouldn’t be the first time we’d seen this sort of thing out of Soros.
