MORON ALERT: French Presidential Candidate Emmanuel Macron Calls Terrorism An ‘Imponderable Problem’
By: Elliott Hamilton
As the French presidential election approaches, the world remains fixated on who will succeed François Hollande as head of France’s executive branch. Most of the attention has been fixated on Marine Le Pen, the leader of the National Front party that has a harsh stance on Muslim immigration, terrorism, and the European Union. Le Pen, whose father Jean Marie Le Pen had an infamous history of minimizing the Holocaust and making controversial remarks about minorities, is facing a tough challenge against former Prime Minister François Fillon, Socialist party candidate Benoît Hamon, staunch leftist Jean-Luc Mélenchon, and an independent, progressive “centrist” named Emmanuel Macron, who is leading in the polls.
A few days before the first round of the election, an Islamic State terrorist opened fire in the Champs-Élysées, killing a police officer. The terrorist attack sparked various commentaries from the five main presidential candidates.
Macron’s statement is reminiscent of someone whom Americans had the “pleasure” to call their President for eight years. According to The Guardian, Macron said the following to a French radio station in response to the terrorist attack:
This threat, this imponderable problem, is part of our daily lives for the years to come. I would like to express all my support for our police forces and more generally the forces of law and order. I am particularly thinking of the victim’s family.
Sounds familiar? Would it shock anyone that Macron got a phone call from Obama and Macron proudly publicized it on Twitter?
This is the same insane talking point that the Left loves to project in the wake of a radical Islamic terrorist attack. Macron’s use of the word “imponderable” suggests that it is impossible to assess how such terrorism could come to his country.
The answer should be simple: Radical Islamic terrorism fundamentally hates the West and it wishes to see Europe taken over by a caliphate. This is not rocket science, but the current front-runner of the French president election refuses to call a spade a spade. Even Hollande said that France was under threat from radical Islamic terrorism following the vicious attack in Nice during Bastille Day.
The only way to address this problem is to stop the mechanisms that allow radical Islamists an opportunity to kill innocent people, but Macron moronically refuses to say that. Instead, he capitulates to the terrorism and somehow accepts that it will be part of France’s daily lives “for the years to come.”
Madness.
