Without warning, Fox News anchor Jenna Lee signed off of Happening Now on Friday by announcing that it would be her final day at Fox, where she’s spent the last 10 years as an employee. Lee said journalism was her calling and promised to continue in the career path, though she gave no insight into what that might look like.

“I’ve decided it’s time for a change and have chosen to leave Fox News. I love being a journalist. I believe it’s what I’m called to do,” said the 37-year-old. “I have some really big ideas on how to better serve you in that particular arena.”

“It has truly been a privilege serving our viewers,” Lee said in a statement.

“This was a difficult decision for me and I’m very grateful for the opportunities that the Fox News Channel and Fox Business Network have afforded me,” she added.

The Fox anchor was originally hired on as a co-anchor on Fox Business Morning for Fox Business in 2007, notes The Hill. In 2010, Lee moved to Fox News’ Happening Now.

Network official Jay Wallace thanked Lee for her time at Fox, stating, “We are grateful for Jenna’s many contributions to Fox News Channel and Fox Business Network throughout her 10 years here. She is a talented journalist and we wish her the best of luck in her future endeavors.”

Fox News contributors also tweeted messages of support to the departing anchor.
