London Mayor: Climate Change? Reason To Be Scared. Police On The Streets Because Of Terrorist Attacks? No Worries!

According to London Mayor Sadiq Khan, there is tremendous reason for Londoners to be afraid–of climate change.

Two days before the Islamist terrorist attacks in London in which seven people were murdered and over 40 others were injured, some critically, Khan tweeted this:

Yet after the terrorist attacks, Khan stated, “Londoners will see an increased police presence today and over the course of the next few days. No reason to be alarmed — one of the things the police and all of us need to do is make sure we’re as safe as we possibly can be.”

Last September, Khan told the Evening Standard that terrorism attacks were “part and parcel of living in a big city … It is a reality I’m afraid that London, New York, other major cities around the world have got to be prepared for these sorts of things.”

But global warming is a wholly different story for Khan; in August 2016 he wrote, “Climate change is one of the biggest, if not the biggest, risk to London.  I want to put our city at the leading edge of the fight against this risk. But London can’t take on this challenge alone. That’s why I have joined forces with leaders of world cities to find ways that we can create cleaner, greener, better and healthier cities together.”
