Trump Causing Liberals to Start Prepping for an Apocalypse
Republican candidate Donald Trump became the new president of the United States in November of 2016, after a close battle with Democrat rival Hillary Clinton. Since Trump’s undisputed victory, many liberals and Hillary supporters have become seriously concerned about the consequences of electing a man such as Trump into a position of such power.
Their concern is well justified, as some of the statements that Trump has made over the years are certainly unbefitting of a nation’s leader, especially the leader of one of the most powerful nations in the world, both economically and in terms of military strength. Speaking of the military, it’s good to know that the US has close to seven thousand nuclear warheads at their disposal, warheads that they can choose to launch and detonate at any given moment.
As president, Trump now has access to the launch codes for those warheads, which is the main reason why many people are concerned about just what he might do with them in the future. The consequences of such an event would be catastrophic, and even Trump himself is aware that any nuclear-armed country targeted by a nuke would certainly retaliate in the same manner.
A few decades ago, the human race came dangerously close to nuclear war because of a malfunction in a Soviet satellite that was tasked with warning about imminent nuclear strikes. The Soviets got a false alarm from the satellite that the country was about to be targeted by a nuclear blast, but the commanding officer tasked with initiating retaliation ignored the warning based on pure instinct – turns out it was the right thing to do. If he hadn’t, we’d already be suffering the consequences of an all-out nuclear holocaust.
Today, with people like Trump in positions of power, this kind of scenario is getting closer and closer to reality, which is why many people are starting to prepare for the worst – a full-blast nuclear apocalypse.
Food Hoarding
The first and most obvious clue that people are becoming aware that we’re potentially getting closer to a worldwide disaster is the sudden rise in stockpiling non-perishable food. People are building massive storages of canned foods, flour and other long shelf-life groceries that will potentially last them years in the event that they won’t be able to buy any at the store.
This is a really good idea, for several reasons. One of those reasons is that a nuclear detonation remains lethal even after the initial explosion. A bomb can wipe out a city in mere seconds, like it did with Hiroshima and Nagasaki, but the real threat is the fact that when this does happen, all food within a massive radius will become irradiated and unfit for human or animal consumption. Eating irradiated fruit of vegetables can give you radiation poisoning and lead to the development of malignant tumors (cancer) inside your body, which will kill you much faster than starvation will, and it will be far more agonizing.
If you hide your food away in a concrete-shielded cellar, however, it will remain safe from the radiation for years to come, and this means you’ll live to eat another day.
The Liberal Prepper
If you’ve been active on social media around the time that Trump won the election, you’ve probably heard of the Facebook group called the Liberal Prepper. This group was founded by 31-year-old Colin Waugh and his wife, and the goal of the group was for like-minded liberal people to band together and start preparing for the imminent “Trumpocalypse” in any way they can.
Some of those things are collecting various, potentially valuable supplies like food, first aid and basically anything else that will help one withstand a nuclear disaster. While initially the group was composed just of Colin, his wife and a few of their close friends, it has since amassed more than two thousand concerned members.
How Dangerous Is Trump Really?
No one is denying that Trump is far from the best and most intelligent president the US has ever seen, but is he truly capable of causing a nuclear apocalypse? After all, anyone that’s resourceful enough to make it to such a seat of power is probably aware that launching a nuclear bomb could very well mean the end of us all. That being said, it’s still a good idea to prepare for such a scenario, because Trump certainly isn’t doing anything to defuse tensions between countries, and as I’ve already mentioned in the example above, we were already dangerously close to nuclear warfare once. It can happen at any time, and all we can do is hope that it doesn’t, while being as prepared as possible for the worst of it.
