Tucker: ‘President Trump Said Something That Almost Every Single Person In America Actually Agrees With’
Tucker Carlson defended President Trump’s comments about “s–thole countries” Thursday night on Fox News, saying there’s a “reason those immigrants are trying to come here.”
“President Trump said something that almost every single person in America actually agrees with,” Carlson said. “An awful lot of immigrants come from this country from other places that aren’t very nice. Those places are dangerous, they’re dirty, they’re corrupt, and they’re poor and that’s the main reason those immigrants are trying to come here and you would too if you live there.”
The Fox News host said that Trump’s use of the expletive “is not surprising” since he “uses them all the time,” but wondered why “virtually everyone in Washington, New York, and LA” is treating it like a “major event.”
Carlson was then joined by former communications director for President Obama‘s 2012 campaign Jose Parra to discuss. But before getting into it with him, Carlson accused CNN commentator Joan Walsh of lying when she said she “can’t say” where she’d choose to live between Norway or Haiti when pressed by Rich Lowry during a panel.
“If we have gotten to the point where we all have to pretend that every country is as exactly as nice as every other country, then we are being dishonest,” Carlson said. “But the idea that you are not allowed to say that they’re pretty crummy countries. Haiti, for example, or El Salvador — I have been to both of them. That’s why people are leaving them to come here. So I don’t understand what the sin is. You are not allowed to point out other countries aren’t as good places to live as America? Like, what is the problem?”
What he said was entirely accurate.
As Drudge highlighted on his website, Emanuel Celler’s 1965 immigration act was passed under entirely false pretenses with Ted Kennedy proclaiming the bill “will not inundate America with immigrants from any one country or area, or the most populated and deprived nations of Africa and Asia”:
“First, our cities will not be flooded with a million immigrants annually. Under the proposed bill, the present level of immigration remains substantially the same…
Secondly, the ethnic mix of this country will not be upset… Contrary to the charges in some quarters, [the bill] will not inundate America with immigrants from any one country or area, or the most populated and deprived nations of Africa and Asia…
In the final analysis, the ethnic pattern of immigration under the proposed measure is not expected to change as sharply as the critics seem to think… The bill will not flood our cities with immigrants. It will not upset the ethnic mix of our society. It will not relax the standards of admission. It will not cause American workers to lose their jobs.”
That was all a lie and our nation is now the most divided it’s ever been since the civil war, yet lying leftists want to act like we’re all singing Kumbaya.
