Joseph diGenova NUKES Rod Rosenstein, Unloads On DOJ/FBI Officials For ‘Framing’ POTUS Trump
In a fiery interview Monday morning, lawyer Joseph diGenova laced into Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein for appointing special counsel Robert Mueller without any legal basis.
“Rod Rosenstein created a special counsel where none is authorized by law,” diGenova said, claiming that Rosenstein’s appointment of Robert Mueller was illegal because it didn’t specify any crime, giving Mueller’s investigation too broad a scope. As for why Rosenstein did this? Well, we’ll let diGenova explain:
He did it to cover his fanny, and I think it is a disgraceful and cowardly act that Rosenstein did, because he didn’t want to make tough political decisions. […]
“I have no respect for the man,” diGenova continued, “and I think what he has done is, he has taken away from a duly elected president of the united states over a year of his presidency by this foolish and cowardly … and unauthorized act of appointing a special counsel.”
“I believe that the president was the victim of a brazen plot by senior FBI and DOJ officials in the Obama administration to do two things: illegally exonerate Hillary Clinton … and the second part of that plot was that if Hillary lost, and didn’t become president, those same DOJ FBI Obama people were going to do everything within their power to prevent Trump from continuing as president by framing him with a crime.”
Amidst President Donald Trump turning up the heat on special counsel Robert Mueller, it was reported that the President was adding Joseph DiGenova and Victoria Toensing to his legal team.
FOX News reports:
President Trump retained the law firm diGenova & Toensing this week to represent him in Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russian meddling and potential collusion with Trump campaign associates in the 2016 presidential election, sources told Fox News on Thursday.
Reports this week suggested Joseph diGenova had joined Trump’s outside legal team, alongside Jay Sekulow, but a source confirmed to Fox News that his wife and law partner, Victoria Toensing, also would represent the president.
Recently, attorney Jay Sekulow announced the two lawyers would not be joining the team, citing conflict issues.

As The Gateway Pundit previous reported, DiGenova has accused the Obama administration of conspiring to frame Trump.

diGenova: “Inside the FBI and Department of Justice under Obama was a brazen plot to do two things. To exonerate Hillary Clinton because of an animus for Donald Trump, and then if she lost to frame the incoming president for either a criminal act or impeachment. This is one of the most disgusting performances by the senior officials at the FBI and the Department of Justice that every one of these agents should be fired and the people who are still in the Justice Department be fired including Mr. Ohr and they impanel a federal grand jury to investigate the conduct of McCabe and Strzok and Page and Comey and Ohr and everybody in the Obama Justice Department that even touched this. It’s very clear that they conspired to frame the incoming president of the United States.”
In February, DiGenova told Fox News host Sean Hannity that he believes several top Justice Department and FBI officials will be criminally charged for their role in widespread FISA abuse.
