Hungary’s state secretary for families and youth, Katalin Novák, stressed the importance of traditional family values and strong families. At the summit for conservatives in Bratislava, Slovakia, she spoke about Europe’s fertility problems as well.
“We must examine why we don’t have enough children and what it is that keeps young people from having children; what are the obstacles in their way, and how to help them overcome them,” Novák, said.
Novák stressed the importance of traditional family values and protecting the modern-day family. She said there is consensus among Central European countries (Hungary included) on this issue.
Related to the labour force, she vowed to “strengthen internal resources” and not to “import outsiders” as that is a “cosmetic solution”.
While Western Europe and Southern Europe accepted millions of migrants, Hungary and the Central European Visegrad bloc opposed accepting migrants.
