Attorney: Whitmer Kidnapping Plot was ‘Pushed’ by FBI Informant Who Plotted ‘Crackpot’ Scheme

The informant was paid $8,600 to foment this scheme.

Big League Politics reported last week about the so-called kidnapping plot against Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, pointing out that a confidential informant was paid $8,600 to ensnare some hapless overzealous individuals in the ridiculous scheme.

Defense attorney Scott Graham is sharing more details indicating that there was never any real kidnapping plot, only a handful of guys talking tough primarily in internet chat rooms. Graham explained in federal court on Tuesday that the bogus plot was just the bluster of “military wannabes” who were “never going to do anything.”

“Have you ever dealt with big talkers?” defense attorney Scott Graham said to an FBI agent during cross-examination, adding: “There’s kind of a military-wanna-be theme that runs between the militias.”

FBI special agent Richard Trask could not explain how the plot was supposed to work while he was being cross-examined by Graham. The feds seem to have pieced together some “big talk” in order to create the impression of a plot in order to justify a federal crackdown against right-wing patriots while far-left Black Lives Matter and ANTIFA terrorists literally wage war against the Bill of Rights.

Graham is representing 26-year-old Kaleb Franks, a resident of Waterford, Mich. who was denied bond on Tuesday by the judge. Two of his alleged accomplices – Daniel Harris, 23, of Lake Orion and Brandon Caserta, 32, of Canton Township – were also denied bond. Another attorney Gary Springstead, who is representing 24-year-old Ty Garbin of Hartland Township, believes there is much more evidence yet to be seen that is being obfuscated by the feds.
