Biden Issues Executive Orders on Gun Control, Democrats Vow More Measures To Come
President Joe Biden announced executive action on gun control Thursday, calling gun violence an “epidemic” and an “international embarrassment.”
The pillars of his executive action include restrictions on so-called “ghost guns” and stabilizing braces, as well as a request directed at the Justice Department (DOJ) to publish model red flag laws that states can use as templates for their own legislation.
Ghost guns refer to homemade firearms made with parts that do not have serial numbers, while stabilizing braces are designed to improve the accuracy of pistols or rifles.
Biden also called on the DOJ to publish an annual report on gun trafficking to “better help policy makers” address the issue.
