Large Tree Uprooted by Hurricane Ida’s Winds Topples Onto Home While Woman Asleep in House – Damage Scenes Across Louisiana

Hurricane Ida made landfall in Louisiana as a monster Category 4 storm Sunday afternoon.

Four mesovortices were rotating around the outer portion of Ida’s eye.

“I don’t think I’ve seen this before with a storm over land.” NOAA scientist Dan Lindsey said.
