Trump received 33 percent support while Trudeau received 31 percent.
A recent poll conducted by Spark Advocacy has found that support for Donald Trump has grown in Canada since Joe Biden took office, with 33 percent of respondents saying they would vote for the former president over his successor if given the opportunity.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau currently has the support of just 31 percent of Canadians, according to the Angus Reid Institute’s tracker, suggesting that he is less popular among Canadians than Trump.
According to the poll, conducted online by Spark Advocacy among 2,175 Canadian adults between December 15 and 27, more Canadian Conservatives are becoming unafraid to back Trump. Around 50 percent of Conservative Party of Canada voters said they approve of him over Biden in a hypothetical re-match of the 2020 presidential race.
Support for Trump was highest in Alberta, which is arguably the province most in sync with American conservative values. In Wild Rose country, the former president garnered 42 percent support.
Young men were the demographic most likely to support Trump, at 52 percent, while older women were least likely, at 21 percent.
Before he lost the 2020 presidential election, only 16 percent of Canadians favored Trump over Biden, according to a 338Canada/Léger poll.
