70% of Canadians believe nation is broken and Trudeau government is not focused on issues that matter

New Leger poll reveals Canadians believe country is “broken” and are angry at federal government
According to a Leger poll released Wednesday, 70 percent of Canadians believe their country is broken and that the federal government is far too focused on things like climate change and the funding of the war in Ukraine than economic issues.
“It feels like everything is broken in this country right now,” was the response of seven in 10 – with Leger noting that this result was three percentage points higher now than it was a year ago when it conducted a similar survey.
The poll notes that women, Conservative Party of Canada (CPC) voters, Albertans, Ontarians, and “those angry with how the country is being managed by the federal government,” are most apt to agree with the statement, “it feels like everything is broken in this country right now”.
That includes 43 percent of Liberal voters, 66 percent of New Democratic Party voters and 72 percent of women.
Leger also recorded that 59 percent of Canadians describe themselves as angry or very angry over how the federal government is running Canada – 27 percent are very angry.
Although CPC voters are the angriest voters in the survey, about 60 percent of NDP supporters are also angry too – even though their party has been propping up the Trudeau government in loose coalition for over a year.
