More documents have surfaced indicating just how much Democratic vice presidential candidate Gov. Tim Walz (D-MN) adored Chinese communism, claiming that it offered a society where “everyone shares” and the state provides free clothing and food to its citizens.
Democratic presidential candidate Vice President Kamala Harris has spoken of “equality of outcomes” or “equal outcomes,” and has toted an economic plan that includes price controls which have led people to label her plan “Kamunism.”
Christopher F. Rufo posted on X: “Wow: The Free Beacon dug up this old news article in which Tim Walz defines ‘communism’ as a system in which ‘everyone is the same and everyone shares.’ He praised the CCP for providing ‘food and housing’ rations. A real-life communism respecter.”
“It means that everyone is the same and everyone shares,” Walz said during a lesson on China’s communist system in November 1991, according to The Washington Free Beacon. “The doctor and the construction worker make the same. The Chinese government and the place they work for provide housing and 14 kg or about 30 pounds of rice per month. They get food and housing.”
Walz’s remarks appeared in a 1991 article in Nebraska’s Alliance Times-Herald. Walz was a social studies teacher in Nebraska at the time. The governor made 30 trips to China during this period of his life.
Walz’s characterization of communism in China is similar to a recent observation that “one person’s socialism is another person’s neighborliness,” the Free Beacon noted, adding that another article in the Nebraska Star-Herald from 1994 recalls how Walz was always “fascinated” by Communist China and recalled seeing footage of Mao Zedong being worshiped by the Chinese masses as a child.
