Houston pediatrician fired after saying Trump-supporting Kerr County flood victims ‘got what they voted for’

“Kerr County MAGA voted to gut FEMA. They deny climate change. May they get what they voted for. Bless their hearts.”
Houston pediatrician Christina B. Propst has been fired after she wrote on Facebook that maybe Trump-voting Kerr County got “what they voted for.” The post read “May all visitors, children, non-MAGA voters and pets be safe and dry. Kerr County MAGA voted to gut FEMA. They deny climate change. May they get what they voted for. Bless their hearts.”

Her post, shared first by Libs of TikTok, comes after flash floods devastated Central Texas, specifically Kerr County. The death toll has continued to rise, and dozens of children have been killed. President Donald Trump has signed a major disaster declaration as more rains are expected, and search and rescue efforts continue.
Blue Fish Pediatrics first suspended Propst before saying that she was “no longer employed” with their practice. “As we previously mentioned in our original statement, we strongly condemn the comments that were made in that post. That post does not reflect the values, standards, or mission of Blue Fish Pediatrics,” they said.
“We do not support or condone any statement that politicizes tragedy, diminishes human dignity, or fails to clearly uphold compassion for every child and family, regardless of background or beliefs,” said Blue Fish Pediatrics.
The post was shared by Sherif Zaafran, president of the Texas Medical Board. “Thank you for alerting us to this. I was made aware of this earlier. This is the response of her employer attached on here. There is no place for politicization. The entire focus needs to be on looking for survivors. Any complaints we may receive will be thoroughly investigated,” Zaafran said.
