MUST SEE: Grandmother Shares Horrific Story of Murder of 23-Year-Old Grandson
Shot 7 TIMES in Washington, DC, Says DC “Needs Everything That Trump is Doing” – “My Grandson’s Life Didn’t Matter… The Criminals Matter More”
The White House on Sunday night shared a heartbreaking video of DC resident Felicia Cook, telling the story of her 23-year-old grandson, Marty, who was shot seven times and murdered in “cold blood” in April.
“They got this old slogan out. They say, ‘if you want to get away with murder, kill them in DC.’ That’s a slogan. That’s the street slogan,” Felicia said before telling her tragic story. “See, DC, they need everything that Trump is doing. I don’t care what they say about him. Fix it.”
President Trump, on August 11, signed an executive order declaring a “crime emergency” and invoking powers under section 740 of the DC Home Rule Act to federalize the police. He also deployed hundreds of federal agents and National Guard troops across the capital.
Violent crime and homicide have since seen a sharp decrease in Washington, DC. Notably, last month saw a rare 12-day streak without any murders.
As of last week, there had only been four murders in the district since Trump’s takeover of the Washington, DC, police department roughly one month ago. This is a stark contrast from the roughly 100 murders DC had during the first seven months of 2025, averaging approximately 14 murders per month.
Felicia Cook explained that on April 23, her grandson had not come home after going on a date and that he was shot seven times, which she described as being “overkilled.”
“My grandson was 23 years old, just getting his life together,” she said. She noted that she spoke went to the Department of Justice and Mayor Muriel Bowser, but “my grandson’s life didn’t matter, and I live with that pain every day.”
