Iranian Supreme Leader Khamenei’s Compound ‘Obliterated’ In U.S.-Israeli Strikes

Saturday’s joint military operations launched by the United States and Israel targeted several key leaders of the Iranian regime, including the compound home of Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in central Tehran.
Satellite imagery released by the New York Times shows extensive damage to Khamenei’s compound, with buildings reduced to rubble and smoke visible in the frame. Iranian state media initially reported explosions near the site but did not confirm casualties or the leader’s presence.
According to a report from Reuters, Khamenei, 86, had been relocated to a secure undisclosed location prior to the strikes. Roads to the compound appeared to have been sealed off by the time strikes began around 2:00 a.m. Eastern Time on Saturday, the outlet reported.
The strikes on Khamenei’s compound formed part of a broader campaign aimed at Iranian leadership and infrastructure. Israeli officials stated that the operations targeted senior political and military figures, including Khamenei himself, President Masoud Pezeshkian, and Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces Abdolrahim Mousavi.
