
‘Sopranos’ star Vincent Pastore dead at 80

Vincent Pastore, best known for his role in HBO’s “The Sopranos” and for playing mobster characters in a slew of film and TV roles, has died, Page Six can confirm.
He was 80.
Sources told Page Six that Pastore was found dead Saturday in his Bonx residence by a neighbor.
Another source told us the actor died at home on City Island in the Bronx.
Pastore had not been heard from in three days prior to being discovered Saturday and circumstances surrounding his death are being investigated, Deadline reported.
Pastore’s manager, Robert Attermann, mourned the actor’s death in a statement to Page Six Saturday.
“I had the privilege of representing Vinny for more than 30 years, long before ‘The Sopranos’ made him a household name,” Attermann said. “To the world, he will always be remembered as the unforgettable ‘Big Pussy,’ but to those of us who knew him, he was so much more.”
“Vinny was one of the kindest, most generous people I have ever known,” the statement continued. “He treated everyone with warmth and respect, never turning down a fan who wanted a photograph or an autograph.”
Attermann continued, writing that Pastore “genuinely appreciated the people who supported him and always made them feel valued. He loved being an actor. He was passionate about his craft and was always encouraging, respectful, and generous with young actors, taking the time to offer guidance and support whenever he could.”
