HEADING TO WAR? Javier Milei Makes His Play for the Falklands, Sanctions British Oil Drilling off the Islands, Says Argentina ‘Will Prevail’ Over Decadent UK
Maybe, in the future, historians will mark today, September 4, 2026, as the start of the Second Falkland War.
Javier Milei gave a televised speech today in which he launched a renewed push for the control of the Falkland Islands – or, as they call it, the Malvinas.
Milei described Britain as a country in decline, and vowed that Argentina would ‘prevail’.
He also announced sanctions for companies drilling for oil in the seas around the islands.
It’s not a coincidence that this comes a day after U.S. President Donald J. Trump hinted that he won’t help defend Britain if Argentina moves on the Falklands.

The Telegraph reported:
“Milei also announced that Argentina would build a new military base in Tierra del Fuego as part of the country’s growing strategic alliance with Washington.

Argentina is a country with natural resources, in a position of geographic strategic relevance that is not affected by uncontrolled immigration, the violence this brings, and the problems of national security that today stalk Europe.”
