Heroic Waiter Tackles Lawyer Who Tries to Shoot Ex-Wife at Crowded Ohio Restaurant
A former Ohio lawyer was convicted of attempted murder this week after he walked into a Toledo restaurant and tried to fire a handgun at his ex-wife last April.
The gunman, identified as 43-year-old Matthew Exton, entered the dining room, pointed the loaded firearm at his ex-wife, and attempted to shoot her, but the gun’s safety was on.
As Exton tried to disengage the safety feature, a heroic waiter tackled him and disarmed him.
Exton was found guilty of attempted murder, two counts of felonious assault, and other firearms charges.
