New Data Shows Mark Zuckerberg Is Overwhelmingly Disliked by Most Americans

A new analysis of public-opinion data found that Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg is one of the rare prominent figures who manages to draw overwhelmingly negative reactions from both Republicans and Democrats.
The contrast became especially striking after the death of country music legend Dolly Parton, whose broad appeal across party lines stood out in an increasingly polarized political culture.
A Reddit user compiled favorability data from the UMass Lowell Center for Public Opinion showing that Parton remained highly popular among voters from both parties.
The data shows 78% favorability for Parton among Democrats and 73% among Republicans.
Zuckerberg’s numbers were nearly the exact opposite.
Only 8% of Democrats viewed the Facebook founder favorably, while just 13% of Republicans did.
Zuckerberg Even Trails Obama Among Republicans
The partisan divide was clear for most other major figures in the dataset.
President Donald Trump and Taylor Swift, for example, drew sharply different reactions depending on political affiliation.
Zuckerberg stood out because there was little partisan disagreement at all.
Both sides viewed him poorly.
Among Republicans, Zuckerberg’s 13% favorability rating was even lower than former President Barack Obama’s 14%.
The only figure in the dataset with similarly dismal numbers was Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Putin registered 2% favorability among Democrats and 6% among Republicans.
Parton, by contrast, represented the opposite phenomenon: a celebrity with broad appeal across ideological lines.
